Scenes from around the farm....

Hi There!

Here is what has been happening around the farm lately...

Every Birdie Was HOT

With the sudden spike in temperatures last Friday Charles decided it was a good time to cool his heels in the pool and Peaches appreciated a freshly flooded wallow!

Making Hay While the Sun Shines...

We had our goats' hay for next winter delivered on Saturday.

It might seem early to be thinking about that, but we like to get "first cut" hay. Lately with our hot dry summers, hay can be harder to come by later in the season, and prices can shoot up when hay becomes scarce. We feel good knowing that we have all the hay we need to feed our goat next winter safely in the hay loft!

Freshly Turned Beds

Don't they look oh so pretty?! Brian pulled out lettuce and spinach and sowed in Swiss Chard and Tatsoi in preparation for the warmer weather. Lettuce and spinach don't do so well in the heat, but chard and tatsoi will keep us in greens through the summer!

Cherry Tomatoes are Coming!!

Look at these little beauties!

The plants are loaded down with green tomatoes right now - hopefully they will be on your table very soon!!

Pictured below are Brad's Atomic Grape (left) and Sungold (right)

I hope you enjoyed a little peek into life on the farm this past week!

Where to find our produce this week...

Come find us at the Anne Arundel County Farmers Market on Riva Road Wednesday evening from 4-7pm

or at the Chestertown Farmers Market on Saturday from 8am - noon!

We will have our pasture-raised chicken, eggs and fresh veggies at both markets!

Cheers,

Jennifer and Brian
