How to Part a Chicken Out....Like Your Grandmother Had to!!
chicken is back!
We are excited to have completed our first harvest of the 2023 season on Sunday!
You can find our pasture-raised chicken at the Anne Arundel County Farmers Market on Wednesday evenings 4-7pm in Annapolis
or
The Chestertown Farmers Market on Saturday mornings!
We break down our larger birds (over 5 lbs) into parts: boneless breasts, wings, leg & thigh quarters.
We also spatchcock some of our birds, which makes them great for the grill!
But the majority of our chicken is sold as whole birds.
What to do with a whole bird?!
These days you can buy a whole chicken, half chicken, individual parts, spatchcocked, marinated or even pre-cooked!
Many (MANY) moons ago chickens came one way: WHOLE (and let's be honest - maybe even still breathing!)
If you wanted to use the parts separately you had to DIY it.
In honor of our first harvest, we thought we would share with you a little tutorial on how to part a chicken out.
It's really not difficult... I know you can do it!
Watch as Brian explains how...
Hope you are inspired to try it yourself!
Cheers,
Jennifer & Brian
